I first began experimenting with painting when i was eighteen or nineteen years old. Up to that point i had never been exposed to abstract or figurative art. What triggered it, i'm not absolutely sure. But i remember walking to work one morning and seeing, (what i thought to be at the time) the most beautiful painting i had ever seen. I was truely mesmerized. That painting spoke to me. I couldn't really understand it. But i could relate to it. It felt pretty natural. Nothing forced. That's the beauty of art. At the time i (innocently and perhaps a bit naive) thought that to become an artist and to create art, i would have to buy expensive canvases, professional art paints, brushes and so on... A mistake i think 99% of the artists out there make. Art is simply art. It is not, and it won't become more or less meaningful, because of the materials it is made of, or were used to create it. This is of course my own personal opinion, and what art means, and is to me. The perspective has changed over the years as i grew as an artist. That's the way of things, i believe. You move forward. You evolve. To this day, I am primarily a self-taught artist. Thank God for that. I'm also a musician and love to write poetry. My other two biggest passions. I've exhibit my work in many parts of the world, London, Paris, New York, Dresden, Göttingen, Copenhagen, Porto, Munich, Venice as well as other internationally known cities and countries. I'll indeed exhibit anywhere where there's a wall space and leave all fucking snobbery behind. Much of the content found in my work (paintings, drawings and sculptures) come from everyday life occurrences,, shit that pisses me off, and also past experiences, (good and bad) put through a very personal filter. I paint what both hurts and makes me happy. I paint what is meaningful to me. Bad language is used many times. It is need. It needs to be there. Yes i like that! I do. It's me. Art should not, and must have no bounderies. It should be free of censorship. Let loose. Not always understood and taken the way it is meant to. I for one think that in most but not necessarily all cases, my work speaks for itself, or at least that's what i aim for, and would like it to be. A journey where chaos becomes order, then chaos again. Many of my works don't even need an explenation. They're pretty straight forward and couldn't be more obvious. When i make a piece that's how I wanted it to be. Hopefully the viewer can experience the very same feelings i'm trying to express and convey. I believe each person takes something a little different from the same piece. That doesn't particularly have to mean that the work as been misjudged or misinterpreted. My absolute most favourite works are the ones i create in just a few seconds or even minutes. I don't mean with that, that the ones that take a longer time are not between my favourites or aren't good. There's something about spontaneity that is magical. I can't really explaint it with words. Nor can i explain when a work is finished. It just is. You feel it. Something inside tells you it's time to stop. It's done. So i let you think about it. My paintings, drawings and sculptures are mostly about religion, greed, war, self- destruction, history, dictatorship, the use of power by governments and other entities to oppress the masses, the injustices of the world and the corporate slavering of the weak and poor. The negative and the positive. The things that disgust me the most are definitely and usually what drives me to create art. The intangible and crude representations of human decadence is another subject where i very much like to dwell upon... And when I say: "I like", I don't mean I enjoy it, or love to see it. Those are just the things that take me into profound thinking. I am not a negative person (like some have sugested). I paint about negative things so they can one day perhaps become positive. My way of fighting and showing my support against the shit that trobble me and others around the world. Some preffer to simply fucking ignore them. I don't. I preffer to fight it. That's when my work comes in. Like a weapon trying to erase the whole fucking damn shit. There's plenty of it around, so there will always be plenty of subject matter for me to work on. I don't like to sketch things realistically. I never did. The images present in my work are for the most part abstract, but yet recognizable. When at work in my studio my methods very. I don't have a set pattern. My focus in on the message i'm trying to bring across. That can come in many different ways and mediums. An important part of my style, if i can call it mine. (Though i think no one is really original these days). I also like to incorporate any kind of materials into my work. Any. No rules whatsoever! Pencils, graphite, oil sticks, acrylic, oil, ink, house paints, charchoal, markers, crayons, felt pens, enamel, collage, glue, hard as nails adhesive, shoe polish, found paper, cardboard, wood, saw dust, MDF...anything at hand really. Even lipstick and mud. The last few years i became obsesed with recycling materials and i have been using them on 95% of my work. If any of you ever have or had the chance to see my work up close, you will see that my paintings have a lot of structure. Something that a photo can't really bring to life. Art for me is the highest form of expression. The greatest reward for me as an artist, is not that my work is understood or sells a lot, but that it raises questions. If i can create a reaction on the viewer, good or bad. Great. The work as done, what the work is supposed to do. Create emotions. Whatever those may turn out to be.
